The African Code Challenge in Namibia has finally kicked off, organized by Glowdom. Initiated by SAP, the competition calls for youth in the age range of 8 to 18 years to compete individually or in groups of not more than 5 members with at least one female and one male.

Africa Code Week is back, and this year’s exciting virtual rollout includes the AfriCAN Code Challenge. This is where you can get involved and show us your skills, creativity and courageous code-talent. The best individuals and teams stand a chance to represent their country in the finals and win 1 Laptop, A mobile WiFi and Airtime for 1st Prize, A tablet, mobile WiFi, airtime for 2nd Prize and A tablet, mobile WiFi for 3rd prize.

Let the Coding Fun Begin!

Kicking-off September 1st, the AfriCAN Code Challenge is an exciting pan-African competition that invites youth aged 8-16 years to program a Scratch game that connects with our ‘Courageous Coders’ theme. Participants are invited to compete individually or in teams of up to five people.

Are you ready for the challenge? To enter, simply submit a 2-minute YouTube video presenting your game concept before 11th September 2020.  Click here for more information about the video entries and competition rules and criteria.

The best video clips will be selected and announced and from there our courageous finalists will compete in the Pan-African finals.

You can compete either individually or in teams (5 per team max. If competing in a team: at least 1 female & 1 male per team Individuals must reside or attend school in Namibia. Individuals can only be entered into 1 team, while multiple teams can be entered from a school or coding club
